Power yoga, which is also known as Vinyasa yoga, is a fast-paced style of yoga that’s focused on building strength and endurance. It is also an excellent form of yoga for burning calories. Although it requires mindfulness and focuses on your breathing, power yoga is more dynamic than meditative forms of yoga. An offshoot of Ashtanga Yoga, it has many of the same qualities and benefits, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction. Teachers design their sequences, while members synchronize their breath with their movements.
Power Yoga is a series of postures designed to improve Strength, Balance, and Flexibility. Each session is independently sequenced by teachers, offering varied, fun, and dynamic classes that will keep you on your toes. It doesn’t matter how fit you are, how old you are, or how flexible. The yoga we teach is not about learning to put your feet behind your ears, it’s about learning to love and look after the body you’ve been given. It’s about challenging your limits, both mentally and physically, and learning to breathe through them.
